When the team behind Kyrgies, a responsibly made footwear brand, first reached out to us, they weren’t looking to dive headfirst into a full-scale production.
They had a clear, simple ask:
“Can we start small, with just a few shots, and see how it goes?”
They had a full catalog to update and were in the middle of reworking their website. Their visual identity needed to evolve to reflect the brand they were becoming, not the one they were a year ago. And for the first time, they were considering incorporating model photography into their visuals.

They wanted to start small to get a feel for the process before committing to something bigger.
That approach makes sense.
At Squareshot, we believe scaling a photoshoot should be thoughtful and steady, with each step supporting long-term brand growth.
How a $300 Shoot Led to a Complete Brand Overhaul
We started with a $300 minimum project — just a few clean product shots. No overcommitment, no pressure. It allowed them to assess the quality, understand the process, and see how creatively aligned we were.
“We wanted a more cohesive look across our visual assets,” Kyrgies told us.
After that initial batch landed in their inbox, the response from the internal team confirmed we were on the right track:
“We got what we wanted and thus were able to move forward. We were very pleased with the results.”
And so the scope naturally grew:
- A 29-image shoot that blended both product and model photography, a visual step forward for a brand moving beyond flat catalog shots.
- Then, a 131-image batch focused on pure product photography: consistent lighting, angles, and styling across their full line.
- And currently, their shoes are still in our studio, ready for a fresh round of 34+ model photos.
The process unfolded gradually, with each phase building on the previous one.

What Growing Brands Really Need from a Photo Studio
In our experience, brands look for three key things when choosing a studio:
- Clear pricing and minimums
- Visual consistency at scale
- A flexible partner who can handle model and product work under one roof
That’s exactly what we delivered.
“Squareshot gave our brand a consistent look and feel, upgrading our previous visual assets. We would work with them again.” shared Barclay Saul, CEO of Kyrgies.
Because we already had their products on hand, moving from one production phase to the next didn’t require extra rounds of shipping or onboarding. The process stayed efficient, lean, and easy on their team.

This Is Where Many Apparel Brands Start
If you’re staring at a content checklist that looks like this:
- “Update product images across all SKUs.”
- “Find a studio that can also handle model shots for our new site.”
- “Test the process before committing to a huge shoot.”
Then you might be where Kyrgies was just a few months ago.
The good news is that you don’t have to start with a 100-image production. You need a partner who’s ready to scale when you are.
“We wanted to start small and see how things go, but after the first batch, we knew Squareshot was the right partner. The visuals looked amazing, and now we’re planning even more model photography together.”
